An NVQ stands for ‘National Vocational Qualification’. It is a nationally recognised work-based qualification that enables the learner to gain practical skills for a profession. The Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Rail Services (Driving) enables trainee rail drivers with a basic knowledge of the passenger transport sector to progress in their career. The main objective of the qualification is to demonstrate knowledge and understanding of train driving. As it is a level 2 qualification the learner should be working in the rail industry, usually under the guidance of a supervisor.
