Employment 1st

Businesses nationwide are looking for staff who have been trained to Employment 1st standards.

There are a large number of employers who will guarantee an interview for people who have completed the programme.

Developed in partnership with employers, Employment 1st prepares people for their first role in the service industry. It covers the core skills businesses have told us that they need – including specialist areas of knowledge like health and food safety, customer service, sales, communication and IT.

A number of employers have signed up to an employer promise, committing to provide guaranteed interviews for individuals who have completed Employment 1st.

Employers looking to find jobseekers that have completed Employment 1st can register and access Talent Search, where jobseekers who have been through the programme are able to promote themselves as available for work.

Employment 1st also leads to a nationally-recognised qualification – the Level 1 Award in Introduction to Employment in the Hospitality Industry
