Conflict Management (Bus station staff)

People 1st has worked with industry employers to develop a programme of e-learning modules for staff working in bus stations. The modules will educate and inform staff members on a range of different areas relevant to their work and are easy to use, even for people who are not used to using a computer. There are five modules, which can be completed individually or as a programme, depending on training needs. The modules generally take between 30 and 45 minutes to complete.

What the training covers

The conflict management module will provide bus station staff with the knowledge and confidence to recognise and deal with violence and aggression safely. It includes information on how to:

  • Deal with different scenarios
  • Identify aggression caused by alcohol and/or drugs
  • Use risk reduction measures and techniques – how to defuse difficult situations
  • Assess threat levels
  • Identify behaviour that may appear to be aggressive but is not, e.g. individuals who have mental health problems

Cost

The module costs £15.
