National register for professional drivers
As an accredited college you can help your students enrol on the national register for professional taxi and private hire drivers. The register is the first ever to recognise the high levels of professionalism of drivers. It is a fantastic way to demonstrate the high standards they have achieved and has been developed to provide operators and licensing authorities with one central system to access accurate information about learner’s skills.
To register, drivers must:

Have completed the NVQ Level 2 Certificate in Road Passenger Vehicle Driving or the Level 2 Certificate in Introduction to the Role of the Professional Taxi and Private Hire Driver in the last three years through a People 1st accredited provider or college such as yourself

Have undertaken continuous professional development through an accredited provider if they gained their qualification more than three years ago – or through a non-accredited provider.
